Amazing Support Building for the Memorial Wall

We’re delighted to say we’re two thirds of the way towards our target for the Memorial Wall at Victoria Park.

10929226_1526947640911412_9014085558811102496_n-w750-h750We’ve been getting together the sum of money needed to construct a permanent memorial to the people from Victoria park who served in the name of Empire in WW1.  And we’re now two thirds of the way there.

We’ve had huge support from key supporters in the Town of Victoria Park, Lotterywest, and the federal ANZAC Commemoration fund.

But we’ve also had incredible grassroots support from businesses and people in Victoria Park – and afar.   Earlier this month, we were contacted by a couple whose response we found particularly uplifting.

We are not from the Victoria Park area but thought this was a fine way to pay tribute to our brave Anzacs.

We decided to “Adopt” 2 diggers as we have two sons. We are hoping that this will be the start of a tradition, with each son encouraging their children to not only honour those that have fought and died for our country, but to have a personal interest in a specific soldier and the role he played in creating a better place for us to live in.

If it all possible, it would be nice if the two diggers we are allocated were related to each other.

To us, that represents the ANZAC spirit, alive and well.

To everyone who has supported this project so far – thank you.  If you’ve been considering it, now’s a great time to get in touch.  There are around 500 diggers to memorialise.

Our Adopt A Digger campaign is still in full progress and would welcome support from the general public and business houses that would be willing to support our project.
